On Saturday, February 16, 2007, retired Austin Police Department K9 "Austin" passed away due to complications from a recent illness.

The Austin Chapter of the International Facility Management Association (IFMA) will host a golf tournament to benefit K9 Search • Austin at The Hills of Lakeway Golf Club.
